Oh, New York City.
I spent 6.5 hours in DFW airport yesterday trying to get to New York. One cancelled flight, four ticket counters, three glasses of wine and some appetizers at Friday’s later, I ended up flying into Newark and cabbing it to the city. I got to the smallest hotel room ever (at the Hudson Hotel) at 2:30, finally fell asleep at 3:30, woke up at 4ish because the heater was making some awful noise...

Office Perils, a brief field guide
Number 10 is a regular occurrence in my office. Number eight is also pretty popular. And number three grosses me out because I wash my coffee cup every day with the nasty sponge in the kitchen sink. cubicle17: As an office-dweller by day, I understand the need for quick identification of workplace perils. The cubicle jungle can be a dangerous place, and it’s best for all of us if you’re aware of...

Best Coconut Cream Pie in Dallas. →
This month’s issue of D Magazine had the top 10 desserts in Dallas. Ashley and I headed over to Strong’s Everyday Tavern today to have lunch and stuff our faces with the coconut cream pie. I had chicken parmesan salad and she had the no bun burger (with jalepenos, of course). We both had bloody mary’s to nurse our hangovers too. We were pretty full, but had to have the pie. They...

VCR's and VHS tapes.
I may be one of last people on the planet who owns a VCR (it’s a DVD/VCR combo) and actually uses it. I missed Ugly Betty, Grey’s Anatomy and LOST on Thursday so I pulled out my VHS tape and set the VCR to record it. You can stop laughing now. So, it’s a Saturday night and I am being lazy and laying on my couch to catch up with on three hours of the TV I missed during the week.
I shut my eyes in order to see.

Yoga: Class 5
Today was the last day of my yoga trial. And I actually signed up for a month. I took away one thing from today’s class. Look for the glimmer of light in a negative situation. I am in one negative situation right now, but it’s not easy seeing the glimmer. I am looking real hard though.
New name?
So my previous Word Press blog was about my explorations and random encounters in Dallas. This new blog is not. I thought I would keep it the same, but I realized I have a lot more to say. Any thoughts on a new title?

Yoga: Class 4
Fourth day. Different instructor. Not thrilled. My thighs and biceps hurt. And I bet they will hurt more in the morning. I guess that might be a good thing. I am still not thrilled with the instructor. But I do appreciate his style. And that is what I took out of today’s class.

Large flower prints (think Donna Martin from Beverly Hills 90210), color changing fabric (AKA Hypercolor), friendship bracelets and Manic Panic will be making a comeback this summer. Wow.

Yoga: Class 3
I know I said I was going to try and take one thing away from my yoga classes, but today I was more focused on trying not to slip off my mat, that I was having trouble concentrating. Yes, I sweat that much that my mat was wet. Yes, I know that is disgusting. I am seeing a theme though. This one hour class is one hour to not worry about anything. To concentrate and focus on myself. It’s also...

Yoga: Class 2
I don’t think there is one ounce of sweat left in my body right now. The heat was on at yoga class today. Even my shins were sweating. I know I did a lot better then yesterday, even though the instructor came over and “fixed” me a few times. I feel like I bended more and moved into crazy positions I didn’t think I could do. I am trying to take one thing the instructor says...

Warrior II & Downward Facing Dog.
I went to a yoga class tonight. It was the perfect way to make me feel completely out of shape. And it was one of those hot yoga classes where it’s about 90 degrees inside the studio. Luckily, our instructor turned off the heat since it was about 85 degrees outside. One thing stuck out from the class. The instructor said something about “sticky thoughts.” I forget the word she...

Progress.
Over the past few days I think I have made some serious progress making my mark in the vast space we call the Internet. I bought a domain name. I switched blogs. I taught myself how to direct my blog to my domain name…or whatever. I have always been self conscious about my online presence, but for some reason it doesn’t really bother me any more. I think I owe a little bit of this...
