My mom gave me a print with this saying on it. It is hanging by my mirror and I try to read it every day.

Distance.
Have you ever had the feeling that you are have begun to have less and less in common with your friends? That they are moving on and “growing up” and you are not? Do you have a problem when your friends are telling you to make friends?
I am 26. I don’t think that I am old. I don’t think it is mandatory to be in a relationship. But I know more married people closer to my...

Dallas tumblr users - part II.
So Penny was kind enough to invite me back to the Dallas tumblr users group and Ash was kind enough to make me an admin.
I was kind enough to invite two people to join. Yay to jspurg and kaytee. Now I need to recruit some people. I have a list too. People I stalked a long time ago when I first started the group.
Now I want the tumblr Gods to recognize me for starting the first tumblr Dallas...

Dallas tumblr users.
A while back I attempted to create a Dallas tumblr group. I invited the three Dallas tumblr users I know - Penny, Ashley and Perrin. Then the page just kind of sat there.
I decided to check it out before and accidentally deleted myself as a user and now Ashley can’t add me back because there is some weird bug with this new tumblr look.
If any of my tumblr friends know of a Dallas tumblr...

If it's not one thing, it's your mother.
I call my mom almost every other day just to check in and make sure all is well in their suburban wonderland.
Tonight just happened to be one of those nights. I came home, made some dinner and watch watching TV while chatting with her. I mentioned that I renewed my lease today and that my apartment people were offering either a carpet cleaning or apartment cleaning as a thank you for staying here...

New computers.
I was at my parents’ house yesterday for a visit. They aren’t the most tech-savvy people so I told my mom I would help her upload the photos from her camera to the computer, since she couldn’t figure out how to do it. I also showed her how to attach a photo to an e-mail.
So, I plug in her camera to the computer and assume the Camera and Scanner Wizard would pop up. No such luck....

It's football season! →
I missed the first two pre-season games, so I plan on making it up tonight by sitting at Christie’s with a few beers and a big screen.

I don't know about you...
…but now that swimming and gymnastics is over, I am not too interested in tuning into the Olympics on a nightly basis.
It was good for a week or so and now I am over it.

Eye issues.
My eye, technically the lower outside corner of my eyelid, has been twitching for over a month now. It’s extremely annoying and is actually starting to worry me. My eyes have twitched before, maybe for a week or so at the most, but this is downright crazy!
Here is why eyedoctorguide.com has to say about my twitching eye:
Blepharospasm is the technical term for involuntary eye twitching...
No cable!!!
This is the second time in a week that my cable has gone out for no good reason. It’s not raining. It’s not windy. I don’t get it. Maybe a squirrel ran across the wire and flipped a switch or something. I just sent a complaint e-mail to my cable company.
I am missing the Olympics! Damn you Grand Communications!
Summer cold.
I am officially sick. I woke up in the middle of the night on Thursday with a sore throat and stuffy nose and it has gotten progressively worse since then. I suffered through work on Friday, leaving at 4pm even though we close at 2pm, got home and parked myself on the couch with Tylenol Cold, a box of tissues and some soup. I haven’t moved until now.
Thank God for the Olympics and The Hills...
Screendoor →
I went here for dinner on Thursday night. The food was fabulous. The service could use some improvement, but I partly blame that on the fact that I was with a loud group of picky people. I highly recommend the fried green tomato salad with mozzarella and red pepper jam and the shrimp and grits. The sea bass was also outstanding and the pot roast was damn good, as well.
To-Do Lists.
This week will be my first full week in the office in awhile. It’s only Tuesday and I already need another vacation.
I left work this evening at 7:30pm, but before I closed down the office (I was the last one there), I updated my to-do list. I still use and old fashioned notebook - partly because I like to write things down and partly because I like the satisfaction of crossing them off...
Wine, wine and more wine.
I might be picking up and moving to Napa and opening a vineyard in the very near future.
My trip to Napa/Sonoma was amazing. Even though it started out rather crappy (Spending 6 hours waiting around a Budget rental car place in SF because apparently making a reservation means jack shit and every car in the city had been rented out that day sucks, but being comped 1.5 days and getting a super cute...
And away we go!
Off to San Francisco in a couple of hours for a few days of work and then heading out to Napa for a girls vacation.
I can’t wait to sit around, sip some wine and just be away from the 100 degree temperatures. Maybe I will meet a man who owns a vineyard…
Hail Caesar!
I never thought I could get so full eating salad. But after 8 plates of it, and the mini portions of other things, such as quail, filet mignon, chicken, crab and dare I say it, sweetbreads, that accompanied it, I am pretty stuffed.
My vote goes to The Fairmont hotels version of Caesar salad. Perfectly balanced and surprisingly lemony and light.
Am I seeing things?
Starting at The Loon at 7:30pm, 80’s night at Lotus and Taco Cabana in one night is lot to handle. I just got home…washed my face, brushed my teeth and put some PJ’s on. I am so ready for bed.
Unfortunately, I heard a commotion outside. I thought it was probably some crazy people out for a late night swim (my apartment overlooks the pool.). I am right, but wrong.
A crew of...
Ahhh, the weekend.
So much for Summer Fridays! I was at work until 4pm. I did spend an hour printing out directions for next week, but still. I didn’t leave at 2pm.
I plan to sit by the pool tomorrow, if I can bear the 104 degree temperature. On Sunday, I am going to the annual Caesar Salad Competition with my mom.
Next week, I have one day of work, then off to SF for work for two days, then hitting the road...
