Toss and turn.
It’s been almost 3 months since my eye started twitching. I finally made an eye doctor appointment. We’ll see what the good doctor has to say about issue next Monday. I guess I should tell her I spend 9 hours of my day in front of a computer at work and sometimes park myself at my desk when I get home, adding an hour or two more.
Over the past week or so, I have been having problems...

Lost, but finally found.
You know when you have lost something and you know you have it somewhere in your apartment or house or car. For a few years now, I have been looking for my Matchbox 20, Yourself or Someone Like You CD. I know that is completely random, but it’s a good CD! Don’t judge me.
So since I am in desperate need of some new music to listen to at the gym (Yes, I finally joined a gym....

Neighbor woes.
I know it’s only 9:21pm on a Saturday night. And I know I should be out doing something. But I am not. I am home, attempting to relax and just enjoy my evening.
My neighbor(s) downstairs (I have no clue who he/she/they are) are apparently having a techno party or something and the music is making its way through their ceiling to my floor and into my living room. Really?!
Grow up people....

Busy bee.
I have been travelling for the past two weeks, my office is in the process of moving, my good friend Jess is moving to North Carolina and I have been completely exhausted lately.
I am still alive. I promise.

Open windows.
Ike blew through Dallas over the weekend and thankfully we didn’t get hit as bad as the weather authorities predicted. My thoughts are with everyone along the Texas coast that was affected.
The one thing that Ike did bring to Dallas is this amazing weather. Highs in the 80’s during the day and lows in the 50’s/60’s at night. It felt wonderful to open all the windows in my...

National Buttermilk Biscuit Day. I like biscuits, I guess, but this is a lame day to be born on.

Hurricane Ike Survival Kit.
Ike is making landfall around Galveston sometime during the wee hours of the night and is expected to make its way to the D/FW area sometime tomorrow. Two-six inches of rain and tropical storms winds are likely.
I have provisions:
One frozen pizza
One bag of Garden Salsa Sun Chips
One package of Reduced Fat Oreos
Two movies - Stop Loss and Smart People
My computer
And if the power goes...

Food overload.
If you know me, you know when I am come the Northeast, I try to eat as much Italian and Chinese food as possible, especially eggrolls, attempt to have Dunkin’ Donuts coffee and try to grab a bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel.
I had pasta yesterday, I am forcing myself to eat my third slice of pizza, my attempt at Chinese failed today, I had Starbucks instead of DD and I am planning on my...

How ‘bout them Cowboys?!
Home is where the heart is.
Whenever I am back in the town I grew up in, I realize how things are exactly the same, but incredibly different at the same time.
When do you reach the point in your life when your hometown isn’t really home anymore?
NJ/NYC.
I just found out today that I am going to NJ/NYC for work next week.
I am actually leaving on Sunday and coming back on Tuesday (pricey flight!), but in a matter of a few days, I get to see some of my family, my best guy friend and my old co-workers. I also have a great opportunity for my career.
Win-win situation? I think so.
Heart-to-heart.
Every now and then, it’s good to have a bottle and half of wine, half a pizza, a few tears and good conversation with your best friend.
It can make you grow closer and become more independent at the same time.

Defrosting your freezer.
I accidentally left my freezer door open just a crack when I left for work this morning. I came home to find partially defrosted chicken, melted fudge pops and soggy Lean Cuisine and veggie burger boxes.
I called my mom and asked her what I should throw away. She told me to cook what I would eat in the next few days and throw the rest away. Apparently defrosting food can’t be refrozen...

Baby got back-up.
I finally decided to bite the bullet and buy an external hard drive. My computer crashed a long while ago and I lost everything - a huge music library, years of photos, including my college graduation, etc.
About $85 bucks later, I have successfully backed up my music, photos and random files. A whole 10 GB! I thought I had a lot more crap on my computer that I cared about…

Old friends.
In the past few months, I have made a conscious effort to reconnect with people I have lost touch with over the years. I just got to that point in my life and though to myself, maybe we can leave the past behind us.
I have been pretty successful given that I had a significant falling out with my three best friends from high school quite some time ago. I also moved halfway across the country and...

My parents new computer. →
My parents have finally ditched their 12 year old computer and entered the 21st century. I spent last night and this morning helping them learn the ropes and installing things like iTunes for my mom’s Shuffle and their new all-in-one printer.
Now I REALLY want a new laptop!
