Dear women in public restrooms:
Please don’t talk on your cell phone while you are peeing. I am sure the person on the other end does not want to hear that. It annoys the crap out of me too. It’s gross and I think you can wait two minutes to continue your conversation until you are done. And please, wash your hands.

Perspective from my elders.
(Who would kill me if they knew I called them that.) Just got home from a few too many drinks and dinner with my aunt (yes, the one who is always trying to set me up) and her friend Kathy. I rarely go out during the week. Occasionally, I will grab drinks on a Thursday or a random day when I am meeting a friend from. The Chicago/Celtics game was on and now the Mavs/Spurs game is on, so the bars...

The fam.
I know the mean well and I should have more patience with them. I am trying. Really. My parents: My condo hunt continues and since my dad has his real estate license (for the last few years), I am relying on his expertise with properties, loans, the handy-work associated with buying a home, etc. I sent him an e-mail with eight condos that caught my eye so he could take a look. He couldn’t...

Cute, comfy and affordable shoes? It can't be. →
Marais USA: Finding a stylish quality shoe without a three-figure price tag has become somewhat of a treasure hunt. Fortunately, the search is over with this new Brooklyn-based line. Created by a pair of Parsons grads, the line’s first collection consists of well-designed timeless footwear basics in a rainbow of colors. We’re coveting the red Prince peep toe mini wedges, the earthy...

Sense of accomplishment.
I have worked out every day so far this week. I enjoy the fact that the Katy Trail is steps from my apartment and that is free and ready for me to use whenever I want to. I have been sporadically working out over the past few months (I stopped for a while when it rained for a week, JRL came to visit and then went to Vegas for CTIA), but I feel a serious sense of accomplishment that I have been...

Decal books
blueeyedgreek: Does anyone who grew up in the 80s have a vague memory of sticker/decal books?  I picked up a pack of Moo stickers today and the smell of the plastic brought me straight back to 1988, with my side ponytail and LA Gear sneaks. Colorforms! Little cut outs of your favorite characters that you can stick on to a book or cardboard background. I used to love these. So much that I stuck...

Dear Grocery Store Bagger,
leeshiebean: You are allowed to put more than one item in each bag, you know.  It’s not like I’m trying to start a collection of plastic bags or something. I totally agree! I would rather piss people off and do self checkout so I can bag my own groceries. I also find that if I give the cashier/bagger my own reusable bags, they tend to fill them up. If only they would learn to put all the cold...

I never forget a face.
Last week as I was walking along the Katy Trail, between Knox and Fitzhugh to be exact, out of the corner of my eye I caught a glimpse of a familiar face. I turned my head just a little more and realized…it was hot guy! I quit the gym months ago so out of sight, out of mind. I saw him again today and we even crossed the street together. He got to the other side and sprinted off, leaving me...

New blog?
I have been thinking of starting a new blog lately. I am not sure what the topic will be, but I like to cook…and eat…and I do random things like clip coupons and bargain hunt. I am also single. I have a cat. And I grew up in New Jersey. I am an only child too. I don’t really see a theme with those things, but I’ll keep thinking about it. It’s great to write down...

Loner.
I have always hated group projects. They seem like a good idea - split up the work, everyone participates. In school, I was always the one to take the lead and do all the work so it would be done well and on time. It created more for me to do, but I knew I would get a good grade. I feel the same way now. If you want something done right (or your way), do it yourself. It’s a battle I have...

Goodbye cube farm...
…hello office! I officially moved from my cubicle to my new office today. It’s a little weird. I am used to talking over the walls to my coworkers/friends and now I have to get up to talk to them or just talk to myself. I also have some real walls to decorate. I think I can get used to it though!

Week in review.
I spent the last week at CTIA in Las Vegas and today at the Samsung 500 at Texas Motor Speedway. Here are some highlights. In Las Vegas: Executed a successful press conference. Even the media agree. Ate steak, Italian, Asian and some bad, greasy American, including fries with gooey cheese. Gained about 10 lbs. Won $200 bucks playing Blackjack. Thanks, Larry (the dealer). Got...
