You are what you drink.
I ran to Kroger after work to pick up some random things I was out of. I only had a few items and didn’t feel like using Self Checkout (which I am normally a big fan of, but the line was too long) so I waited in the 15 Items or Less line. While I stood there for about three minutes or so, I witnessed two separate guys - one in the line next to me and one who stood in line behind me - buying...

Bar golf.
A fun, challenging, often vomit-inducing college sport. The rules are simple. Players travel to 18 bars (the front and back 9 may be played on separate nights), and an hour (or half-hour if you want to make it intense) is allotted for each bar. Teams of 1 lady and 1 gentlemen are set up and score cards are distributed. Par is set ahead of time for each bar and you must drink to reduce strokes....

STFU.
I know it is only 6:30pm, but I have zero tolerance for the loud music blaring through my apartment walls right now. I can’t wait to get out of here.

Condo FAIL.
Too good to be true? Maybe… My dad drove 40 miles from Denton to Dallas in the 102 degree heat today to take me to see the 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 2 car garage condo with granite countertops, Viking appliances, 2 balconies and ground floor patio IN MY PRICE RANGE only to find out that the lock box that holds the key is busted and we can’t get in. FAIL.

– - My mom, after me telling her how a guy I was set up with ruined my Friday night. How nice of her! My words of wisdom from this weekend: Relationships can’t be forced. They need to develop over time. You need to get to know someone as a friend before you can honestly say that you are...

Some of the Most Important Things I've Learned But...
Stop trying to win acceptance. The people who really matter will accept you anyway. If you have to fight for a spot, you’ll never really fit in. And you’ll never really be happy there anyway. You can’t rely on anyone else for your happiness. You have to go out and make it yourself. Things happen for a reason, but things don’t happen for other, just as important reasons. Have faith. It will...

Drama.
My life has been feeling like an episode of 90210 lately, filled with high school drama. Gossip. Confrontations. Tears. I am tired of it. I am tried of finding things out second hand, of people meddling in my business, of talking behind people’s back, of reading about what is going on with people and what they think of me online, of people getting pissed off and angry and defensive and...

KaBOOM!
People at work have been ranting and raving about how awesome KaBOOM! is. I have been pretty skeptical, but after getting totally disgusted with the mildew build-up in my shower, I decided to give it a try. I am convinced that this stuff, who knows what it is made of, is the best bathroom cleaner out there. I sprayed it in my shower, did some other cleaning for an hour, came back and the mildew...

Dry Clean Only.
I hate those words. I haven’t dropped off any clothes at the dry cleaners since March and I definitely need a suit for Monday. I hope the delicate cycle in cold water and hanging to dry won’t ruin my Dry Clean Only suit. Fingers crossed!

10 Things Guys Wish You Knew...
According to Jason Mraz. 1. You look sexy when you’re puffy from lying on the pillow all night. 2. We don’t understand your addiction to celebrity gossip. Whatever you do, don’t talk about it on a date. 3. Guys get a monthly type of PMS too. We get moody and need our space. 4. It’s the hottest thing when you say, “Are you going to kiss me now?” 5. We read and reread your texts and e-mails. 6. It’s...

Out of it.
I had one of those days today where I felt completely out of it. I felt off. I didn’t feel like myself. I don’t know why or what caused it, but it felt crappy and I hope a good night’s sleep will cure me of it.

It's not a diet. It's a lifestyle.
I have been doing Weight Watchers for the past month and half or so. My mom and I have done it before and she started up again a few months ago, so I decided to join her. It’s always been an easy way to eat anything I want, but keeps things in moderation. I have been doing very well with counting points and writing everything down in a food journal. Watching what I eat has even helped me be...

I haven't laughed so hard in a long time.
If you are in the mood to laugh until you cry and your stomach hurts, I highly recommend seeing The Hangover. Definitely the funniest movie I have seen in a long time and one of those you will have to see when it comes out on DVD.

Bridesmaid.
I just found out yesterday that I am going to be a bridesmaid in my cousin’s wedding! I have to say, this is officially the first wedding I will be in. I have so many friends that have been in so many weddings. They make it sound so exhausting and expensive, but totally worth it in the end. Since my cousin lives in D.C. and I live in Dallas and her wedding is in New Jersey, I don’t...

Chili Cumin Chicken Salad.
I went out to lunch a few months ago with some colleagues. We walked across the street from our office to Bread Winners Cafe & Bakery, which is a Dallas institution and the place to see and been seen for weekend brunches and lunch during the work week. I had this wrap with chili cumin chicken salad, lettuce and avocado. It was delicious. Spicy, creamy and not overwhelming with mayo. It was...

Sake.
I had sake for the first time tonight. I went to The Fish in the West Village for sushi and happy hour after work and one of the specials was hot sake. I decided to give it a try. I can’t decide if I am a fan or not. It was hot sake, which came in a little tiny sake pitcher. I sipped it for a while, then started to shoot it because it got cold and didn’t taste as good. It smelled like...
