HGTV.
Ever since I have started looking for a condo, and now that I have found one, I am obsessed with watching HGTV.
Property Virgins, House Hunters, Curb Appeal, Design on a Dime. I have some good ideas on decorating and paint colors!

Things to do this weekend.
Eric’s going away party and drinks with friends tonight.
Packing up stuff in my apartment I don’t need in the next 45 days tomorrow and Sunday.
Pull together all of my paperwork and statements for my mortgage loan application.
Grocery store run.
Spend a few hours by the pool with a magazine and my new book.
Start packing for New York/Atlanta trip next week.
Possibly a Home Depot...
Eventually, everything will come together. Until then, live it up. Do what makes...

I am waiting for it to sink in.
I am so close to becoming a first-time homeowner!
The seller officially accepted my offer this morning and I am signing the paperwork tomorrow. I close on September 15th and I “technically” move out of my apartment on September 29th.
I am waiting for all of this to sink in. I am waiting for the shock of the fact that all of my savings will be gone. I am waiting to cry, because I know...

Condo update.
I have become more and more frustrated over the past few weeks. I have seen close to, dare I say it, 50 condos all over Dallas. I know exactly what I want. I know where I want to live. And I know how much I want to spend.
After another round this weekend, I found a really nice place in the same complex as the condo I made an offer on about a month ago. I would have to compromise, since it is a...

Contaminated?
I bought a box of Wheat Thins today when I went to the grocery store. I just opened them up when The Bachelorette started and when I got through the box, I noticed that the bag was slightly open in the corner.
I gave Nabisco, and the creeps out there that like poison food, the benefit of the doubt and hoped that the bag opened when I opened the box, so I ate them anyway.
My tongue feels a little...

New computer.
My 10 year old computer from college seems to have officially bit the dust. It is a sad day.
Now, I am on the hunt for a relatively inexpensive laptop. I basically just surf the Web, edit photos, watch videos, etc. Nothing to crazy. Laptop prices have come down so much, but it’s been ages since I have bought a new computer, I want to be sure I am getting everything I need.
Any suggestions?

Leftover chicken broth or spaghetti sauce?
Since my grandma and I both live alone, she taught me a great trick.
Pour the liquid into an ice cube tray and then freeze. Pop out the cubes and put them in a freezer bag. Two cubes is about a 1/4 cup. Whenever you need some chicken broth or some spaghetti sauce, you have exactly the amount you need.
Here are some other useful ways to utilize your ice cube trays.

Good weekend...except for Sunday.
This weekend was one of the best I have had in a long time.
On Friday, I spent the afternoon with my friend Ashley. It’s been a while since we have had some good girl time and shopping was the perfect idea! She was on the hunt for shoes and I ended up buying a sweet pair of Rock & Republic jeans at Nordstrom Rack for $65. Good deal! We ended up going to happy hour at Park, a new bar on...

Stupid computer.
My stupid computer may have officially died. Attempting to be patient and letting it “warm up” and maybe it will come back to life.
*UPDATE: It’s working…for now, but I think it’s on its last leg. It’s probably not a good sign that it turns off and on by itself.

Conversation with my eye doctor.
Doctor: I mentioned this when you were here last year. Your eye is most likely twitching because you are stressed out. Do you feel stressed out?
Me: Well...I was sitting in a meeting the other day and my boss was listing out a whole bunch of things I needed to work on this week and my eye went crazy. So yes, I think I might be stressed out.
Doctor: OK then.
Me: I also live in a noisy apartment building and I don't sleep very well. I have called the on-site police officer twice in the last month because of loud music at 3am.
Doctor: Oh, that's unfortunate.
Me: Yes. I am hoping to move soon.
Doctor: In the meantime, I think you should go buy one of those gel eye masks that you put in the fridge. Relax for about 10 minutes every night with that on. I will also give you some drops on your way out. I also think you should see a general practitioner for an overall physical. And hopefully, work will calm down and you will find a quieter apartment soon.

I have eye problems.
I had some serious eye twitching issues over the last 10 months or so. My right eye started twitching again about a month and half ago.
I attempted to ignore it. Took Tylenol PM on occasion to help me get a good night’s rest. Bought some eye drops and kept them in fridge and put them in my eye when it started twitching, something the eye doctor told me to do last year. Nothing is working.

Bad habits.
I have developed some very bad habits lately.
I don’t wear my glasses every time I am on the computer and then I get a raging headache that doesn’t go away for hours.
The other is looking up condos on Realtor.com and then getting in my car and going to drive by them. That being said, I am off to drive by three more condos.

It's a digital world.
I officially made an offer on a condo today. I am so anxious and nervous, I can’t stop eating and I know I won’t be able to sleep tonight.
I have been trading e-mails and phone calls with a mortgage loan officer from Chase, which is my bank. He splits his time between Dallas and St. Louis, but I have been talking to him for a few months now and he hasn’t been in Dallas once. And...

Creativity in the kitchen.
My goal of eating through the food I currently have in my apartment and only buying perishable items, has inspired me to be creative in the kitchen.
Tonight I made whole wheat pasta with pesto (I had a tube of pesto paste that you mix with equal parts olive oil that I bought at Sprouts a while back) and low fat ricotta cheese (from my recent attempt at a low fat, non-fried eggplant parmesan) with...

She works hard for the money.
I am so close to making an offer on a condo. It’s been months of searching, making appointments for showings, attending open houses and being so frustrated that I didn’t think I would find “the one” and now I am days away from making an offer.
I think I might puke.

Mentally exhausted.
It’s been a physically relaxing, but mentally exhausting weekend and it is now coming to a close. I wish I had just one more day off!
Friday I went to look at condos…for the millionth time. I found one that I REALLY like and made plans to go look at it again today. More on that later.
I spent the 4th with my family eating and drinking too much, lounging by the pool, setting off...
Re-
We spend our lives rereading and rewatching and relistening and relearning. We eat the same things over and over. We end up loving people who remind us of other people. We perform these rituals, this spacetime origami, because the basic fact of our n-dimensional existence is this: Most things can be recalled and some things can be revisited but precious little can be relived.
