Another good weekend.
Good times with old friends (Friday) and new friends (Saturday), drank a few too many beers (both nights), wasted half of Saturday at car dealerships and didn’t drive off with a new car, ate everything I shouldn’t have (cheeseburger, fries, nachos, etc.) and enjoyed every minute of it, lounged around with Jersey until 2pm on Sunday. Is tomorrow really Monday? Can’t I have one...

Wanted: New car.
My lease is up next month and I am ready to move on and get a new car. I currently have an Acura TSX, but I am looking for something a little more budget-friendly. I also drive two miles to work every day, so a luxury vehicle is not something that is necessary. Any suggestions?

Diet update and my new favorite snacks.
I have been doing Weight Watchers since January 12th. I allow myself one cheat day a week, where I can eat and drink whatever I want. If I go out for happy hour or lunch during the week, I try not stay as close to my points allowance as possible. So far, so good. My pants are even starting to fit better! The one thing about “dieting” that I like is that it forces me to be creative in...

Weekend recap (a day late).
Last weekend was a good one. It’s been a while since I have had a really good, blog-worthy weekend in Dallas, so I thought I would recap it. Friday - After work, I went shopping with my friend Ashley and then we sat at Time Out Tavern, a total dive bar on Lovers and Inwood, with a few drinks and caught up. We complained about work, she bitched out her ex (literally) and then we deleted him...

So, I don't think I am a fan of dating.
I have come to a point in my life, where I have no problem being brutally honest with people. I can put myself out there. I don’t have anything to lose. Being blunt and honest upfront avoids being awkward later. Or so I thought… Dating overall is just awkward. I don’t think I am a fan of it. And that is all I have to say about that.

My mom called me lame.
Because I said I wanted to stay in tonight, try a new recipe (which I call eggplant parm pasta - Weight Watchers style), lay on my couch in my pajamas and watch TV. Ya know what, mom, I might be lame, but I am perfectly happy staying in tonight.

Strangest luncheon menu ever.
I went to a work luncheon today. I was expected rubber chicken, mashed potatoes and some kind of veggie and chocolate cake for dessert. Being on day three of Weight Watchers, I had a snack before I left and figured I could take the skin off the chicken, eat the veggies a bite or two of mashed potatoes and ask the waiter to take the chocolate cake away. Much to my surprise, they served the...

Fat Butts May Be Healthy →
Having junk in your trunk is healthier than a spare tire around the gut, new research suggests. The extra padding on the backside and thighs could even help to protect against disease. “The fact that body fat’s distribution is quite important for your health has been known for some time now,” said lead researcher Konstantinos Manolopoulos of the University of Oxford in England. But this new...

Sick?
I am trying to decide if I need to go to a doc-in-the-box tomorrow morning. I started to feel crappy during my CES trip to Las Vegas, but just thought it was the dry, desert air making my nose feel like it had grown like Pinocchio and my eyes puffy like I had been crying for hours. I continued to feel crappy Monday and Tuesday, but thought it was just my body catching up and recovering from the...

I'm secretly sappy as hell.
But don’t tell anyone. I have a gruff exterior. Life goal #1: Find the best in people. I’m not very good at it yet. That’s why it’s a goal. (via lemdi) Me too. I try to cover it up with my badass Jersey side and swearing too much. I give it away when I cry though.

Diet: Day One & Some Realizations
I planned my meals out last night and was all set for today. I even set aside enough points to grab a skinny latte from Starbucks before my two hour client meeting this afternoon. I was starving at 10:30am so tomorrow I need to plan for a mid-morning snack. Weight Watchers has always been the easiest way for me to diet. I like the fact that I can basically eat anything I want, but in moderation....

I am stuffing my face with Oreo cookies right now.
Why? Because I am officially starting my diet tomorrow and I need to make sure the cookies are gone. Goodbye cookies, hello Weight Watchers.

Las Vegas kicked my ass.
This year’s CES was officially a beat down. My feet hurt, my back hurts and I may have slept for 12 hours in the past 6 days. I can’t wait to go home.

I hate New Year's resolutions.
I break them about two months into the new year, so this year I only have one. And it’s not a resolution, its a way of life. Be happy. That could mean anything, at any time of the year, in any situation. If losing weight makes me happy, then I’ll try my best at it (I think I might join Weight Watchers…and for real, like go to meetings, not just do it on my own). If kicking ass...
