It’s a digital world.

I officially made an offer on a condo today. I am so anxious and nervous, I can’t stop eating and I know I won’t be able to sleep tonight.

I have been trading e-mails and phone calls with a mortgage loan officer from Chase, which is my bank. He splits his time between Dallas and St. Louis, but I have been talking to him for a few months now and he hasn’t been in Dallas once. And the listing agent for the condo couldn’t meet with us last weekend and asked my dad to e-mail him.

Sometimes I can’t believe that people do business so virtually nowadays. When I am dealing with money or have questions about a serious issue, I want to meet face-to-face with someone and get all of my answers. I am getting tired of e-mails and voicemails. Doesn’t anyone sit down and have a conversation anymore?

I spend a majority of my day answering and sending e-mails, replying to customers on Facebook and Twitter, so I am part of this issue. But, I also spend a lot of time in meetings, talking through ideas and figuring out the best plan of action for a project. There needs to be an equal balance.
