Steps.

The good thing about being stressed out and having a head full of things that are distracting me, is that I feel motivated to get up off my couch after work and on the weekends and walk around my neighborhood.

The 30, 45 or 60 minutes that I am wandering through the streets, turning a corner or finding a street I haven’t walked down before, is refreshing. I like that I can either let my head wander or whatever is playing on my iPod consume my thoughts. I have even found myself singing out loud a few times, when no one is around, of course. And the fact that I tend to pass cute, shirtless guys with their perfect 6-packs running down the street next to me…well, that is a perk too.

On Sunday, I walked 5,034 steps. On Tuesday, 5,412. And today, 6,954. I am pretty darn pleased with myself.
