I feel like I have been unusually busy lately. There just seems to be a lot going on with work, with family, with friends and with social engagements. I am still feeling pretty happy though, so no complaints at all.
So what’s been keeping me busy?
- I thought the holidays would mean that things at work and with clients would slow down, but boy, was I wrong. Work is busier then ever…and I am excited to be filling in on a fun account while a co-worker goes out on maternity leave. I;m also getting ready for CES…again.
- I’ve been trying lots of new restaurants with my friend Jess. We’re determined to try all the taco joints in town (so far, Velvet Taco, which sounds a little naughty, is the best) and hit up some of D Magazine’s best restaurants of 2011.
- Holiday parties and gatherings are aplenty right now. Lunches, happy hours, dessert exchanges, Secret Santa exchanges and wrapping gifts for the homeless (for my friend Jana’s birthday…isn’t she the best?!) and my work holiday party coming up this week.
- I’ve made a dent in my Christmas shopping list, but I still have more to buy. My parents are so hard to shop for and I never know what to get them. My friends are getting some homemade goodies.
- Family drama…it never ends. I don’t want to go into it, but it can get exhausting.
More to come as the holidays quickly approach.
It’s been a busy last week.
I literally had some kind of plans or obligation every day over the last week. In addition to long, busy days at work, there were Mavs watch parties, Rangers game, catching up with friends. I am exhausted. My left eye is twitching. I need a serious good night’s sleep, which I plan to get tonight thanks to some Advil PM.
Pictures and maybe a random video coming soon.
This is how my day felt. A five day weekend meant I came back to a billion e-mails, a bunch of changed plans and scrambling to get ready for a week-long work trip.
Hey there, tumblr.
I didn’t fall off the face of the earth, just so you know. I have been consumed with planning a major event at work and all of my energy has been spent working and planning and planning and working. It will all be over this week though, so I hope to get my creative blogging juices flowing again soon.
The next 30 days.
Today marks one month until I close on my condo. The countdown has officially begun!
The next 30 days are going to be crazy busy:
- August 19: Paul McCartney concert at Cowboys Stadium
- August 22-28: Trip to South Korea
- August 29: Cowboys pre-season game against the 49ers
- August 30: Family BBQ
- August 31: Day off from work to recover
- September 3: Happy hour with Jess (visiting from NC)
- September 7: Labor Day - work closed
- September 10-13: Trip to San Francisco
- September 15: Condo closing
Compliment.
When I bust my ass, stay late, redo the same thing over and over again because people can’t make up their minds or something throws a wrench in the plans, I get stressed, pissed and start emotionally eating.
But when someone, someone much higher up on the food chain, tells me that what I worked on is “awesome,” that makes me feel a lot better.
