New laptop!
After 45 minutes on the phone for AT&T tech support, I am up and running on my new laptop! I am super excited to actually have a computer again!
New computer.
My 10 year old computer from college seems to have officially bit the dust. It is a sad day.
Now, I am on the hunt for a relatively inexpensive laptop. I basically just surf the Web, edit photos, watch videos, etc. Nothing to crazy. Laptop prices have come down so much, but it’s been ages since I have bought a new computer, I want to be sure I am getting everything I need.
Any suggestions?
Stupid computer.
My stupid computer may have officially died. Attempting to be patient and letting it “warm up” and maybe it will come back to life.
*UPDATE: It’s working…for now, but I think it’s on its last leg. It’s probably not a good sign that it turns off and on by itself.
Bad habits.
I have developed some very bad habits lately.
- I don’t wear my glasses every time I am on the computer and then I get a raging headache that doesn’t go away for hours.
- The other is looking up condos on Realtor.com and then getting in my car and going to drive by them. That being said, I am off to drive by three more condos.
Desktop Cat Seat.
Maybe this would solve the problem of Jersey sitting on my keyboard while I am trying to type.
Baby got back-up.
I finally decided to bite the bullet and buy an external hard drive. My computer crashed a long while ago and I lost everything - a huge music library, years of photos, including my college graduation, etc.
About $85 bucks later, I have successfully backed up my music, photos and random files. A whole 10 GB! I thought I had a lot more crap on my computer that I cared about…
So much for a 250 GB external hard drive.
My parents new computer.
My parents have finally ditched their 12 year old computer and entered the 21st century. I spent last night and this morning helping them learn the ropes and installing things like iTunes for my mom’s Shuffle and their new all-in-one printer.
Now I REALLY want a new laptop!
New computers.
I was at my parents’ house yesterday for a visit. They aren’t the most tech-savvy people so I told my mom I would help her upload the photos from her camera to the computer, since she couldn’t figure out how to do it. I also showed her how to attach a photo to an e-mail.
So, I plug in her camera to the computer and assume the Camera and Scanner Wizard would pop up. No such luck. The computer also took about 15 minutes to boot up and longer than normal for Internet Explorer to open.
Is is possible that their computer is so ancient that it won’t recognize her new Nikon digital camera? It has to be true because I tried everything and I couldn’t figure it out.
The end result: I told them to go out and buy a new computer. I don’t think my dad was too thrilled.
Now I really want to get a laptop.
