Some thoughts from the weekend.
- - Coming home from NJ late on Friday night, I left 30 degree temps to step off the plane into 70 degree temps…in January! This weekend was unseasonably warm. I drove around on Saturday with the windows down, wearing a t-shirt. I opened the windows in my house. I sat on my patio and read a magazine. It was wonderful, short-lived, but wonderful.
- - tumblr friends are awesome. I had a great time playing videos games, trivia and bowling at Main Event on Saturday. Looking forward to the next meetup already!
- - I burned the Katy Perry CD from my mom. She surprises me sometimes with her music selections. I also played Wii bowling and Just Dance with my mom and her friends. They can actually be a lot of fun.
- - My hobby of making feather headbands, pins and barrettes, has turned into a little side business. I made a whole bunch of pins this weekend after some ladies my mom met at a luncheon last week asked where she got the pin she was wearing. I even designed some cards to display the pins and barrettes on. I sold two headbands to my moms’ friends’ daughter, who owns her own hair salon. She bought two for herself and took a few to sell in her store. My aunt bought a pin too.
- - I made my breakfast and lunch for tomorrow and even planned out my dinner for tomorrow night. Planning out meals and having them ready to go makes it much easier to stay on track with WW. I basically have the rest of the week’s meals planned out too.
- - One more day off would be nice, but oh well.
My hip, stylish grandma gave me these pages from a couple of magazines and asked if I could make her this broach. This is my first attempt. Not bad, but I think I am going to try another one.
Etsy update.
One of my goals this week was to get some of my feather goods posted on Etsy. I attempted to take photos of about 10 items to get started and this proved more difficult than I imagined. I can be a decent photographer when I try and I am going to have to try a little harder before I can get everything posted.
In the meantime, I did post two feather barrettes up on my Etsy store. Once I get more posted, I will share the link. They all of you who read my blog can buy my stuff…and tell your friends to buy my stuff…I am kidding. Sort of…:)
I created an Etsy page months and months ago. I have made a whole bunch of feather headbands and barrettes. I have even sold some to friends, friends of friends and to a store in North Dallas.
What I have yet to do is take photos of my current inventory of headbands and barrettes and post them to Etsy. I am such a procrastinator! I even have ideas for new feather stuff, like jewelry and those feather trees you see during the holidays.
I am officially setting a goal for myself. I will start to populate my Etsy site this weekend! Stay tuned for details.
