A Praise Chorus.

Are you gonna live your life wonderin’ standing in the back lookin’ around?
Are you gonna waste your time thinkin’ how you’ve grown up or how you missed out?

Things are never gonna be the way you want.
Where’s it gonna get you acting serious?
Things are never gonna be quite what you want.
Or even at 25, you gotta start sometime.

I’m on my feet, I’m on the floor, I’m good to go.
Now all I need is just to hear a song I know.
I wanna always feel like part of this was mine.
I wanna fall in love tonight.

Are you gonna live your life standing in the back looking around?
Are you gonna waste your time?
Gotta make a move or you’ll miss out.

Someone’s gonna ask you what it’s all about.
Stick around nostalgia won’t let you down.
Someone’s gonna ask you what it’s all about.
Whatcha gonna have to say for yourself?

I’m on my feet, I’m on the floor, I’m good to go.
Now all I need is just to hear a song I know.
I wanna always feel like part of this was mine.
I wanna fall in love tonight.

Crimson and clover, over and over.
Crimson and clover, over and over.
Our house in the middle of the street, why did we ever meet?
Started my rock ‘n roll fantasy.
Don’t don’t, don’t let’s start, why did we ever part?
Kick start my rock ‘n rollen heart.

I’m on my feet, I’m on the floor, I’m good to go.
So come on Davey, sing me somethin’ that I know.

I wanna always feel like part of this was mine.
I wanna fall in love tonight.
Here tonight.
I wanna always feel like part of this was mine
I wanna fall in love tonight.

- A Praise Chorus by Jimmy Eat World, from the album Bleed American

Coachella Live

If you are music fan and not at Coachella, tune in to watch all the bands live. I am watching Cold War Kids right now, but there are so many great bands tonight and over the weekend - Black Keys, Tame Impala, Mumford & Sons, Two Door Cinema Club, Jack’s Mannequin, Jimmy Eat World, She Wants Revenge and more. It’s amazing that I can watch all of them live…from my couch. My weekend just got so much better.

mtvU Ulalume Festival

I will be at an event/party tonight and won’t be able to watch this. Knowing MTV, they will replay it the whole weekend. I know, I am a total nerd.

If I wanted to live in a dorm, I would.

Last week, I finally got annoyed enough to call the office at my apartment to complain about the loud music I hear at all hours of the night on a regular basis. I was 99% sure it was coming from downstairs and the manager said she would leave a note on their door.

All was quiet for about a week, so I thought it was taken care of.

This evening after I got back from walking the Katy Trail, I walked into my apartment to hear the thudding of music. Obviously, my neighbors have no respect for the people that live around them.

I hate to be “that girl” and complain to the office again, but if I wanted to relive my college years and move into a dorm, I would.

It’s time I start looking for a new place, hopefully a condo or house, so I plan to get in my car and drive around this weekend to pick up flyers.

Organized iTunes library.

I always ignore the iTunes update when it pops up and for some reason I accepted it today and downloaded the newest version.

I am now obsessed with finding all the album covers and organizing my songs so they are all nice and pretty. I have a done a pretty good job so far and I am just categorizing the randoms, like 80’s music, into albums and finding some random images to include as album artwork.

FYI - The Twilight soundtrack is pretty darn good.

Lost, but finally found.

You know when you have lost something and you know you have it somewhere in your apartment or house or car. For a few years now, I have been looking for my Matchbox 20, Yourself or Someone Like You CD. I know that is completely random, but it’s a good CD! Don’t judge me.

So since I am in desperate need of some new music to listen to at the gym (Yes, I finally joined a gym. Gold’s Gym to be exact.), I decided to raid my old CD’s and see what I could dig up. And there it was. Tucked behind another CD. The Matchbox 20 CD I have been looking for almost 2 years.

I also came across some good music to add to my iTunes library, which is filled mostly with pop-punk, emo stuff (The Starting Line, Yellowcard, The Ataris, Saves the Day, etc.). Cyndi Lauper, The Bangles, Nelly, No Doubt. Good stuff to work out too. I am actually pretty pumped to go to the gym now.
