Good deal.

While shopping for a new comforter/quilt for my bed on Friday afternoon, I wandered into Marshalls. Of course, I pick out the quilt that doesn’t have a price tag on it and cause a scene at the register. The cashier calls for a price check and the person on the other end calls her back in about 5 minutes…with what was clearly the wrong price.

How could the cashier think that a king size quilt could be $14.99 when the shams that match it are $12.99 a piece? That person’s mistake was my good deal. Thanks, Marshalls.

What a great weekend.

It’s too bad it is almost over, but I am happy to report that I did everything that I had planned to do (minus CB’s birthday), plus a few a extra things this weekend.

The Dallas Vigilantes game was…interesting. The key was to find a cute player and cheer him on and that made it fun. After the game, my friend Ashley and I went to see our fave bartender at Vickery Park.

The Dallas Flea was super cute, although I didn’t buy anything. Wicked was amazing (see earlier post) and dinner at Jorge’s at One Arts Plaza was delicious. It was good to spend the day with my mom.

I spent 4 hours at the pool today with Ashley. Ate at Rusty Taco on Greenville, which I have wanted to hit up ever since I saw it on Thrillist. Had some froyo at Yogurtland, which is by far the best froyo place in Dallas and worth the short drive up to Northwest Highway, across from Northpark. I ended the afternoon watching Transformers 2, which I had to see after watching Transformers on TV on Saturday night. That Shia LaBeouf is just so cute and the movie was good, despite hearing that it wasn’t.

This week is going to be super busy at work, but after this weekend, I feel good. Happy. Relaxed. For now. Tomorrow is another story.

Friday Eve…ready for the weekend.

This week has been pretty darn stressful. Things are not going as planned (as if they ever do). I have been exhausted every night. This whole online dating thing is not really what I expected and it is more like online dissing rather than dating. The weather has been humid as hell, which I think adds to being tired. And this season of Glee ended. Boo.

I am so ready for the weekend. Tomorrow night I am going to a Dallas Vigilantes game at the AAC. The box seats and parking pass were free. Bonus! I am spending Saturday with my mom - hitting up the Dallas Flea, seeing Wicked and going to dinner. Saturday night is my friend CB’s birthday. I plan to sit by the pool with a book and my iPod on Sunday.

This weekend is shaping up to be a good one and I am not going to let anything ruin it…at least that is my plan.

Shoe shopping.

I heard from my cousin who is getting married Memorial Day weekend today. Since I am in the wedding, planning emails have been flying back and forth for the past couple of months. My bridesmaids dress came in last week. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately), it is huge and will need to be seriously tailored. I am also short, so it needs to be taken up quite a bit.

Up until today, I hadn’t heard from my cousin about shoes. The wedding is pretty formal, so I thought my cousin would have picked out shoes. But, she didn’t. She told all the bridesmaids to pick out whatever shoe they want, as long as it they are silver.

Who would have thought that looking for silver shoes would be so difficult?! They all look like prom shoes, super strappy and for me and my wide feet, probably really uncomfortable. I am officially on the hunt for stylish, somewhat comfortable and somewhat reasonably priced (I will pay more for style and comfort) so if you have any suggestions, please pass them along!

My day - S.P.L.

S - Shopping

P - Packing

L - Laundry

I need a few new things - shoes, maybe a couple shirts, a new iPod, makeup and this new bag I have been eyeing.

I am off to Las Vegas (again) for work and a couple of days of pleasure, so I have to drag out the big suitcase and start packing.

And last, laundry. At least two loads.

My mom is the hardest person to buy Christmas presents for.

I finished all of my Christmas shopping today…except for my mom. I have a few things for her already, but I am looking for at least one more. She is the hardest person to shop for because when she wants something, she just goes and buys it and when you ask her what she wants, she always says “Nothing.”

I am debating on a few things right now, but I am not sold on any one thing. Suggestions?

Goals for my long weekend.

  1. Paint my bathroom.
  2. Check air filters (random, I know).
  3. Go to First Trade Mondays in Canton, TX. The world’s largest outdoor trade days (if not Canton, The Dallas Flea).
  4. Make reservations to take my mom and grandma to holiday tea at the Dallas Arboretum.
  5. Buy tickets to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. In Dallas, not New York City.
  6. Start Christmas shopping!
