What’s on my mind on this Monday (Memorial Day) evening…

I am DirecTV’s newest customer.

That’s right. After a year and half of free Time Warner Cable, I am now officially a paying customer of DirecTV. But…since my condo complex goes through a third party, authorized retailer/installer, I have to wait for my equipment to come in and then schedule someone to come out and install it, which could take about a week. Not a fan.

I am watching my friend Ashley’s dogs for a couple of days (well, really just tomorrow), but she gave me her key today since she left for NYC this afternoon and told me I could watch TV at her apartment tonight and tomorrow. I guess I am lucky she went out of town when I don’t have cable.

My cable is out.

For someone who is home all day, this sucks. I am trying to find out if there is an outage in my neighborhood or Time Warner Cable finally found out that I haven’t been paying for cable since October 2009 when I moved into my house. Hey, not my fault they never shut it off.

I went grocery shopping earlier and when I came home a TWC truck was outside. I swear they were staking out my house. I ran a couple more errands, came home again and still no cable. And now the truck is gone.

If they shut off my service, I’m not going to complain. It was a good run. Sure, I am annoyed that I have to pay for TV now, but grateful that I had free TV with HD channels for a year an half. Fingers crossed it does come back on though…

Update: TWC just Tweeted me. Guess I shouldn’t have posted anything on Twitter since they asked for my account info. Just told them it was my “boyfriend’s” account (ha, yeah, right), I didn’t have the info and gave them the name of the street I live on. Then they asked for the phone number and full address. Rather than get into more detail, I said I was “OK for now,” but would check back on the service later. Ooops.

Headache (and life) update.

My lack of tumblr updates probably makes all of you out there think that I am off jet-setting to some event or work-related function. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case. In my last post, I wrote about my four day headache…which turned into a seven day headache, followed by a day of relief and then a headache so bad, I thought I was going to vom.

I have been chasing doctors, trying to get referrals, self-diagnosing and attempting to take it easy. At happy hour last week, I drank water. I have been keeping my computer off a night. Trying to eat somewhat better and cutting out Diet Coke. I did go to the Black Keys/Kings of Leon concert last week, but only because I didn’t want to give up my ticket or lose my money and I really wanted to see them (too bad KOL sucked…Black Keys, however, we badass).

I am feeling better, but it is so frustrating not knowing what is going on with my head. According to my self-diagnosis, it is likely one of three things: 1) migraines/cluster headaches, 2) a sinus issue or 3) something to do with the dilated blood vessels on my optical nerve in my right eye, which my eye doctor told me about last year and told me to keep an “eye” on. I have two doctor’s appointments in October to try to figure out what is going on, so now it’s just a waiting game.

My mom called me lame.

Because I said I wanted to stay in tonight, try a new recipe (which I call eggplant parm pasta - Weight Watchers style), lay on my couch in my pajamas and watch TV.

Ya know what, mom, I might be lame, but I am perfectly happy staying in tonight.

HGTV.

Ever since I have started looking for a condo, and now that I have found one, I am obsessed with watching HGTV.

Property Virgins, House Hunters, Curb Appeal, Design on a Dime. I have some good ideas on decorating and paint colors!

The Men Tell All

Lincee is on vacation, but her friends Jill and Catherine did a pretty good job recapping last night’s The Bachelorette: The Men Tell All.

“Juicy.”

I just finished watching Real Housewives of New Jersey. Here are my thoughts:

No Bravo?

I was pretty jazzed to watch Real Housewives of NJ last night. There is definitely some six degrees of separation going on with me and all of those crazy, plastic, orange NJ ladies on the show.

10pm is late for me. I know, I am a serious nerd. But I stayed up and started flipping through channels to find Bravo. Apparently, I don’t have Bravo. Way to go Gables for only offering Grande Communications or Dish Network to your residents.

I guess I will have to wait until Bravo put the full episodes online.

UPDATE: Thank you hulu.

Loner.

I have always hated group projects. They seem like a good idea - split up the work, everyone participates. In school, I was always the one to take the lead and do all the work so it would be done well and on time. It created more for me to do, but I knew I would get a good grade.

I feel the same way now. If you want something done right (or your way), do it yourself. It’s a battle I have been dealing with. Trying to delegate tasks so I can focus on working on other things. It’s easier said than done.

I’ve also been feeling a little out of sorts lately. I don’t feel like getting into the gorey details, but I am currently more content reading a book, surfing the Web or rotting my brain cells with cheesy TV and movies than going out. I know I need work on some personal issues right now, try to expand my social circle, branch out and do new things. Again, easier said than done.
